Prayers were delivered at the Wailing Wall and other holy places today for Shimon Amrani, 18-year-old student who is on trial before a military court on charges of possessing illegal arms.
The police pursuit of Amrani, who was arrested immediately after the explosion in Jerusalem police headquarters on March 23, was described in court today by seven prosecution witnesses. The prayers for the accused youth were offered by ten Cabalists at the behest of his parents and the Yemenite community here. Prayers were also recited in all Yemenite synagogues.
Another youth, Jacob Shlomo Frieman, 16, son of a watchman at Rachel’s Tomb, who was arrested at the end of March for possessing an automatic pistol and ammunition for it, was fined $200 today by the Chief Magistrate of the civil courts.
