The fifth annual convention of the Agudas Israel organization of America opened here this afternoon with 500 delegates from all parts of the country and Canada in attendance. The convention, which is meeting at the Hotel Empire, will continue through Sunday.
Rabbi Eliezer Silver, president of the Agudas Israel, announced at the opening session that he had received a cable from the Agudas Israel of Palestine urging redoubled efforts on behalf of the Jews of Europe.
