The 1944 campaign of the Combined Jewish Appeal of Boston exceeded its $2,250,000 quota, it was announced today by the campaign chairman, Louis H. Salvage. As of last night, $2,269,000 had been contributed and several hundred pledge cards have not yet been turned in.
The 1944 quota was the largest ever undertaken by the Boston Jewish community and the second largest in the country. Mr. Salvage saw the success of the drive as an indication that American Jewry will not remain deaf to the urgent pleas for assistance by the Jews of Europe.
