Well attended celebrations in this city and Capetown marked the observance of the 70th birthday of Dr. Chaim Weizmann. Substantial sums were raised to inscribe his name in the Golden Book of the Jewish National Fund. Attending the Capetown celebration were the mayor of the city, several city councillors, members of the consular corps and other dignitaries.
