The American Red Cross today lauded Jewish congregations in many parts of the country for their “widespread observance of Red Cross Sabbath” which took place on March 16 – 17, in support of the 1945 War Fund campaign.
“Not only did rabbis devote their sermons in part or in entirety to the Red Cross and its humanitarian mission, but in a number of instances they devoted a part of the radio time allotted them to the same purpose,” the statement issued by the Red Cross said.
