Lieut. Col. Vanden Bauheden, who, as presiding judge of a local military court, recently caused a furor here by making anti-Semitic remarks, has been suspended for “mental instability,” Mayor Camille Huysmans told a Jewish delegation today.

Mr. Huymans said that everything possible was being done to stamp out the remants of anti-Semitism left by the Nazis. He appealed to Antwerp Jews everywhere to return to the city and help in its rebuilding.
