Representatives of the Jewish youth section of the Bulgarian Fatherland Front have suggested that the Hechalutz movement “temporarily abandon” the Zionist program.
This was revealed today at the end of a three-day conference here of the Hechalutz Organization attended by 80 delegates and many guests. The meeting hall was bedecked with Zionist, Bulgarian and red banners, and greetings were received from the Jewish Agency and the Histadruth. The position of the Hechalutz within the Fatherland Front and the future of the Hachshara movement, which trains Jewish youth planning to emigrate to Palestine, was discussed by the delegates.
The conference adopted a resolution declaring that the Hechalutz organization considers its activities to be inseparable from those of the Fatherland Front, and steting that all Jewish youth must unite on a basis of common ideals. All chalutda were urged to take up some productive work.
