Unity in the American Zionist movement, which was effected a few days ago with the recall of Dr. Abba Hillel Silver to leadership of the Zionist Emergency Council, was hailed today by leaders of the council and the Zionist Organization of America.

Dr. Wise and Dr. Silver, who are co-chairmen of the council under the new set up, issued a statement in which they declared that “the American Zionist front is once again united and strong. We can now speak effectively in the name of the entire Zionist membership of our country at the forthcoming World Zionist Conference in London. Our people’s resclve to work indefatigably towards the achievement of our historie goal is strengthened; and with all our resources mobilized we will bend every effort towards the reconstitution of Palestine as a free and democratic Jewish Commonwealth.”

Daniel Frisch, acting president of the ZOA, in the absence of Dr. Israel Goldstein, who is abroad, called on American Zionists to support the reorganized council “in this supremely critical hour.” Dr. Goldstein, in a cable from London, expreesed his gratification at the reconciliation between Drs. Silver and Wise, declaring that “in the critical days ahead we shall need their joint strength and the strength of the entire Zionist movement.”
