Former Attorney General Francis Biddle has been appointed the American member of the international court to try war crimes, with Judge John J. Parker of North Carolina as alternate, President Truman today announced at his press conference.

During his Attorney Generalship, Biddle opposed discrimination on grounds of race and creed and championed the full rights of minerities in a democracy.
