The Czechoslovak Embassy today issued a denial of a Jewish Telegraphic Agency report–reprinted in an open letter to Prime Minister Attlee by the American Zionist Emergency Gouncil–that 7,000 Jews committed suicide in Prague after their repatriation from German camps.

The Embassy said it had received word today from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Prague that the report has “no foundation.”

(The JTA dispatch from Prague did not state that all the 7,000 who committed suicide were Jews. It said that they were repatriates, the majority of whom were Jews.)
