A Jewish Religious Council has been organized here to unearth prayer books, torahs and other religious articles which have survived the destruction of synagogues and Jewish libraries by the Nazis.

Prof. Michal Zylberberg, who heads the council, appealed today to Jews and non-Jews to hunt for such material, some of which, he said, may be found in small towns and villages.

The council also called on Jews abroad to donate prayer shawls and phylacteries, because there are none in Poland, aside from some donated by religious Jews in Moscow.
