Director General Herbert H. Lehman of UNRRA, questioned by reporters today following a visit to President Truman, confirmed that Lt. Gen. Sir Frederick E. Morgan was coming to the U.S. to appeal his ouster as UNRRA chief in Germany. Gov. Lehman said that he had not discussed the Morgan incident with the President.
(A dispatch from London reports that Morgan arrived there last night and is planning to discuss his Frankfurt statements, for which he was ordered to resign, with UNRRA officials in London this week. His assistant, Brigadier W.A.S. Stawell is at present acting chief of UNRRA activities in Germany.)
