A petition for cloture to curb the filibuster against the FEPC bill will not be introduced before Thursday, because proponents of the measure want to have as many signatures as possible affixed to the bill, Sen. Denis Chavez, sponsor of the measure, said today.
Meanwhile, the National Conference on Jobs and Security, of which the American Jewish Congress is a member, today appealed to President Truman and Senate majority leader Alben Barkley for action to crush the filibuster.
