Jewish Agency Representative Arrives in Poland; Will Open Office to Aid Emigration

Dr. Moses Jassi, representative of the Jewish Agency for Palestine, arrived here today in organize a Palestine Office which will be opened at the and of this month to facilitate the emigration of Jews to Palestine.

The Polish Press Agency today reported that Adolf Berman one of the leaders of the Central Jewish Committee in Poland, has been awarded the Warsaw Medal for his heroic activities during the uprising against the Germans in the Warsaw ghetto.

(The Manchester Guardian yesterday reported from Warsaw that ritual murder propaganda against Jews “is being circulated freely in Poland even now.” The correspondent said that the Jews in Poland feel that they will not be able to lead a life free of hatred. He quoted Marek Bitter, vice-chairman of the Central Jewish Committee, as stating that most of the 353 Jews killed in Poland during 1945 by the anti-Semitic underground movement were murdered in the Warsaw and Kicles districts.
