The Supports State University, but Urges Continued Fight on Bias in Other Schools

Affirming the necessity for the establishment of New York State University, Dr. Stephen S. Wise, president of the American Jewish Congress, in a letter to Governor Thomas E. Dewey today, indicated that such a university sever, would not be the answer to educational bias as revealed by Mayor O’Dwyer’s committee on Unity. Dr. Wise said that the fight for such an institution must not distort liberal Americans from their struggle to abolish bias in educational institutions.
