The Bavarian Government announced today that it has set aside 2,000,000 reichsmarks to make restitution to 3,000 or 4,000 Jews in Bavaria who were fined by the Nazi Government, following the assassination of Ernest Vom Rath by Herschel Grynzpan, in Paris in 1938.

The money represents only a fraction of the fine levied on the Jews in Germany after the killing of Vom Rath. Refunds will be made only to those who can produce evidence that they paid the fine.
