The World Zionist Congress, the first since 1939, will be held in Palestine in August, it was announced today at a meeting of the Small Zionist Actions Committee. It was decided that delegates would be chosen on the basis of “chekel” payments for only one year, thus enabling the Revisionists, who have not made such payments for several years because of differences wit the Zionist Organization, to participate.

Dr. Chaim Weizmann, addressing the meeting, expressed his pleasure at the fact that the Congress is to be held here, declaring that it foreshadowed the creation of a Jewish state. He said that he was happy to be back in Palestine to share in the “hard days,” although he believes that success will crown Zionist efforts.

David Ben Gurion told the meeting that the Jewish Agency’s testimony before the Anglo-American inquiry committee, which begins hearings here in about ten days, will be along the lines of the resolutions adopted by the World Zionist Conference in London last Summer. It was announced that the central committee of the Mizrachi Organization has reversed the decision of its national conference and will testify at the committee hearings.
