Tuberculosis and other diseases resulting from years of starvation and physical suffering are prevalent among the surviving Jews in Europe, it was reported last night by Dr. Leo Wulman, executive director of the OSE, upon his return from Switzerland where he attended the world OSE conference in Geneva.
Dr. Wulman emphasized that medical aid is one of the most essential and urgent needs of the surviving Jews. He also reported that there are about 1,500 pregnant Jewish women in the U.S. zone in Germany who are in need of special medical care. The OSE, he said, is now taking care of approximately 10,000 Jewish children in various European countries.
