German Jews residing in Holland will be permitted to remain in the country and will no longer be considered non-enemy foreigners, not German citizens, it was announced here today.
Many Jewish children who found shelter with non-Jewish families during the German occupation of Holland are still with these families, despite protests by Orthodox Jewish leaders. A special committee, which included two Christian women, has just returned from Palestine where it studied the possibility of placing the Jewish orphans there. The committee is expected to make its report public shortly.
