Dr. Meilech Chmalnitsky, Jewish writer, died here last night from a heart attack. He was 61 years old.
Dr. Chmalnitsky was born in Russia and studied at the University of Vienna. He practiced medicine in Vienna for many years, and emigrated to the United States in 1939 where he joined the additional staff of the Jewish Daily Forward as a writer on medical subjects. He was the author of several volumes of poetry.
