Jewish Role in Rebuilding Polish State Lauded by Officials at Lodz Ceremony

The part played by Jews in the anti-German underground and in reconstructing a democratic Polish state was lauded here by official speakers addressing the opening ceremonies of a home for Jewish youth.

The Jewish committee here has up to now registered 38,000 Jews, of whom 48 percent had returned from concentration camps, 17 percent from hiding places with friendly Poles, 10 percent from the forests and partisans units and 25 percent from the USSR.
