Shouting and heckling from the audience consisting of Zionists and anti-Zionists interrupted a Town Hall debate last night on the Palestine question in which Jewish, Arab and Christian speakers participated.
Dr. Kalil Totah, of the Institute of Arab American Affairs, and Henry N. Hall, secretary of the Overseas Press Club of America, which sponsored the debate, were shouted down before they could complete arguments against the establishment of a Jewish State in Palestine. Rabbi Baruch Korff, of the Political Action Committee for Palestine, was interrupted during the presentation of statistics on Palestine’s capacity to absorb Jewish immigrants.
Other speakers included Louis Lipsky, of the Zionist Organization of America; Rabbi Elmer Berger, of the Council for Judaism; Klousey Khairy, of the Washington Office of the Arab League; Ralph McGill, editor of the Atlanta Constitution; and Frank Larvasi, writer and war correspondent.
