Britain’s delay in implementing the recommendations of the Angle-American Palestine committee was attacked here last night at a dinner arranged by the American League For A Free Palestine to launch a $3,000,000 drive “to force the gates of Palestine.”

Sen. Warren G. Magnuson of Washington urged immediate admittance of 100,000 Jews and U.S. support for establishment of a “Hebrew nation.” He asserted that the United States was being asked to join in abandoning 1,500,000 Jews in Europe.

Sen. Francis C. Myers of Pennsylvania disclosed that he is planning to introduce a resolution in the Senate urging the State Department to refuse to recognize the independence of Transjordan. “We cannot permit Palestine to be mutilated, because it is the sacred homeland of the Hebrew nation,” he said.

Other speakers included Reps. Andrew Sommers and Augustus Bennet of New York, who, with the two Senators, received awards from the League for their “contribution in Congress to the fight for Hebrew freedom.” Peter Bergson, chairman of the Hebrew Committee of National Liberation, also spoke.
