New J.D.C. Bulgarian Representative Announces 150-bed Hospital En Route to Sofia

Manuel Siegel, newly-arrived Joint Distribution Committee representative in Bulgaria, has announced that a 120-bed hospital donated by the J.D.C. is en route to Sofia, where it will replace medical equipment and facilities stolen by the Nazis.

In view of the J.D.C. grant, the government has agreed to participate in the restoration of the former Jewish Memorial Hospital which has been used by the army since 1942. Siagel also announced that other medical supplies requested by the Jewish community are on the way.
