Canadian Government Immigration Committee to Hear Jewish Congress Spokesman

The Senate Committee on Immigration, which is inquiring into Canada’s immigration policy, will hear Saul Hayes, executive director of the Canadian Jewish Congress and the United Jewish Relief Agencies, it was announced today by the Congress.

Mr. Nayes, who is expected to urge liberalization of the dominion’s immigration laws so as to permit the resettlement here of displaced Jews from Europe, will be among representatives of various Canadian national organizations who will testify on Wednesday. He will testify on behalf of the entire Jewish community of Canada.
