The Argentine press today attacked the plan of Director of Migration Dr. Santiago Peralta to admit 1,000 Norwegian quislings and soldiers from General Wladislaw Anders’ Polish Army, whom he described as immigrants from the “best racial types” who would lay the foundation for a “superior Argentine people of tomorrow.”

Answering the press assertions that he is anti-Semitic, Dr. Peralta said that he just permitted 5,000 Arabs to settle in the country, “which shows my firm conviction that the Semites are good as basic colonists.” The Arab press here recently lauded Dr. Peralta’s book on Arab activities in Argentina. Jewish leaders, however, have accused him of being anti-Semitic and have protested to the government.
