Hundreds of Jewish veterans marched through the streets of Tel Aviv today in a demonstration demanding a “free Jewish Palestine.” The marchers, who were dressed in the uniforms of all branches of the British armed forces, carried colorful placards and transparencies.

The parade climaxed a day-long conference here to protest British policy and demand the admission of the surviving Jews of Europe. A resolution adopted appealed to all veterans throughout the world to help end the “oppression of the Jewish people” and to protest the barring of Palestine to refugee Jews.

Speakers declared that if the government continues its present policy, the veterans will be the first to “counter-attack.” The meeting hailed a cable from the Jewish War Veterans of the United States, which expressed solidarity with the Palestine Jewish community.
