An official statement declaring that the British Government was not prepared to invite the ex-Mufti of Jerusalem to the conference on Palestine which is to open in London on Sept. 9, was delivered today by General Sir Alan Cunningham, Palestine High Commissioner, to the Arab Higher Committee.
The statement said that the British Government would welcome four members of the Arab Higher Committee as delegates to the London Conference and would also invite Palestine Arabs outside the committee “as in the case of the Jewish Agency and other Jews.”
