Reports on the possibilities of settlement in Palestine for displaced Jews were given here today by two representatives of the Central Jewish Committee of Germany who recently returned from a two-month visit to Palestine.
The reports were made at a meeting of the General Council of the Central Jewish Committee, which is the representative body of the displaced Jews in the American zone of Germany. The meeting also discussed various aspects of the committee’s activities arising from the recognition given to it by the U. S. military authorities.
The two representatives of the committee who returned from Palestine, David Treger and Abram Blumovitch, stated that together with Dr. Zalman Grinberg, president of the committee, they discussed with members of the Jewish Agency executive various plans concerning the immigration of DP’s to Palestine. They also discussed educational and health programs which would arise as a result of large-scale immigration. Dr. Grinberg remained in Tel Aviv where his daughter is critically ill.
