Three groups of Jewish refugees from Poland totalling 1,500 persons are scheduled to be transferred from the American zone of Austria to Germany within the next few days, it was learned here today.
These groups are part of the 10,000 refugees who were to be shipped in daily transports during September. The shipments were suspended for the High Holidays and will be resumed this week. However, the size of the groups leaving Austria has been reduced considerably from the 1,000 persons who left daily during the earlier period.
The new groups are expected to be housed at Ansbach and Coburg, both in Bavaria, in camps which formerly sheltered displaced persons of other nationalities. American troops supervising German laborers have renovated the camps, which have been certified to be in good condition by officials of various voluntary relief agencies and the Jewish Central Committee.
