Two British Policemen. Three Arabs Killed when Explosive-laden Car Blows Up in Haifa

Two British policemen and three Arab temporary constables were killed in Haifa today when a small car blew up in the police compound there, rooking the center of the city. Forty to 50 persons were reported injured.

According to a communique issued here tonight, the sutomobile was driven into the compound at 5:10 p.m. and exploded a few minutes later. No mention was made of the occupants of the car. The blast caused considerable damage.

Earlier today, a government spokesman denied that the authorities had received a communication from the Irgun Zvai Leumi, agreeing to a temporary truce. It was reported on Friday that the Irgun had sent a communication to the government information office confirming reports that it had agreed to a truce.
