General Assembly of Cjfwf Will Deal with All Problems Affecting U.S. Jewish Communities

Every major problem which the Jewish communities in the United States and Canada must face in the year shead will be a subject of discussion at the 1947 General Assembly of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds to be held Friday, January 31 through Monday, February 3, at the Ambassador Hotel in Atlantic City. More than 600 delegates and observers are expected to attend, it was announced today by the Council.

The sessions will review results and project plans for Jewish education, community organization, overseas needs and programs, fund raising and Jewish community relations. They will present a perspective of local Jewish community service and trends as they relate to general social, economic and public welfare, and a review of current directions in case work, child walfare and related services, programs for the aged and medical care, and recreational services.

A session on “Overseas Needs and Programs” will review the general European scene especially in terms of governmental plans and problems, and analyze the Jewish overseas problems and programs, particularly as they relate to Europe and Palestine.
