Synagogues throughout the country will mark February 22 as “Red Cross Day,” in accordance with a custom established early during the war, the American Red Cross announced today. They said that the Synagogue Council of America determined the date.
Rabbis are urged by the Red Cross to devote a part of their services on Red Cross Sabbath to the work of the organization in all fields of humenitarian endeavor.
