B’nai B’rith Concludes Two-day Conference on Veterans Affairs

A testimonial dinner honoring ?cngresewomen Edith Nourse Rogers of Massachusetts for her long record of service to veterans tonight highlighted the two-day joint conference of the B’nai B’rith Post-War Service-Americanism Commission and the National Veterans Advisory Council of the same organization. Mrs. Rogers, long active in veterans affairs, was appointed chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee in January.

The Post-War Service-Americanism Commission and the Veterans Advisory Council decided today to extend their “serve-a-hospital” program of aid to hospitalized veterans for another year and to include new hospitals now under construction in the program, to make even more extensive their veterans emergency housing program now being carried on at community level in conjunction with civic and public agencies, to sponsor Hillel ?oundation centers at the new G.I. Colleges in New York, Connecticut and Massachusetts, and to inaugurate a new program of training and securing jobs for disabled veterans.
