Nazi Governor of Warsaw and Two Others Sentenced to Death by Polish Peoples Court

Ludwig Fischer, who as Nazi governor of Warsaw directed the liquidation of the ghetto here, was today sentenced to death by a Peoples Court. His trial opened on Dec. 17.

Joseph Meissinger, former Gestapo chief and Max Daume, who commanded the German security police in this capital, were also condemned. The fourth defendant, Ludwing Leist, who was Fischer’s assistant, was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment.
