Hungarian Government Extends Period in Which Jews May Sue for Damages Under Nazi Laws

The government today promulgated a decree extending until Sept. 30, 1947, the period during which suits may be filed for damages suffered as a result of private transactions carried out under the former anti-Jewish laws.

Foreign Minister Janos Gyoengyossi today received a delegation which asked for assistance in securing the repatriation of Jewish slave Laboreres who were captured by the Red Army during the war. Many of them are still in the Soviet Union. Gyoengyossi promised to facilitate their return.
