Dr. Joseph Hyman Lauded by President for His Relief Activities During World War Ii

Dr. Joseph C. Hyman, former executive vice-chairman of the Joint Distribution Committee, has been commended “for exceptional and eminent public service in the field of humanitarian war relief during the last war” by the President’s War Relief Control Board, it was learned today.

Joseph B. Davies, chairman of the board, informed Dr. Hyman of his commendation in a letter this week. Members of the War Relief Control Board include Charles P. Taft and Charles Warren. President Truman signed the certificate of commendation which reads:

“Upon the nomination of the President’s War Relief Control Beard, the President of the United States does hereby commend Joseph C. Hyman for eminent service ordered in the field of humanitarian war relief during World War II.”
