Britain expects to reply shortly to Secretary of State George C. Marshall’s request for further clarification of its plans for submitting the Palestine problem to the United Nations, a Foreign Office spokesman announced today.

The spokesman said that British officials have not yet decided on a definite procedure. He also stated that no date has been set for formally handing over the dispute to the U.N. It is believed that these decisions await the results of the scheduled discussion between Marshall and Foreign Secretary Ernest Bevin at the Moscow Conference.
