The Jewish Agency and the Joint Distribution Committee “are cooperating in an extensive public works program to help prepare Jewish DP’s for resettlement in Palestine,” Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, European director of the JDC, reported today at a luncheon in his honor arranged by the United Jewish Appeal. Dr. Schwartz said that such a program will bolster morale and, at the same time, give the DP’s an opportunity to retain their skills.
