Dr. Samuel H. Goldenson, who has served as rabbi of Temple Emanu-El here for thirteen years, announced his resignation last night, effective the end of this year. Dr. Goldenson, who is past the retirement age of 65, had planned to leave the pulpit last December, but was prevailed upon by the congregation to remain an additional year.
