Irgun Says Kidnapped British Policemen Released for “tecnhical Reasons”; Attacks Haganah

An Irgun Zvai Leumi broadcast tonight stated that the two British policemen abducted Tuesday from a swimming pool at Ramath Gan had been released for “purely technical reasons which will not reoccur.” It attacked the Haganah for calling on the Yishuv to join in the hunt for the policemen who were found yesterday.

The trial of five youths charged with participation in the Acre prison break was today unexpectedly adjourned until Monday when the defense is to produce evidence that one defendant, Amnon Mikhailoff, is under 18.

A plane carrying eight Rumanian Jews to Palestine has been forced down in Turkish territory by Turk fighter planes, and its passengers arrested, it was reported today.
