? Silver Submits Jewish Agency Protest on Exodus Deportation to United Nations

Dr. Abba Hillel Silver, chairman of the American section of the Jewish Agency, today sent a letter to U.N. Secretary-General ## Lie charging the British Government with violation of the U.N. resolution ##lling on all peoples and governments to refrain from violence until the General ##sembly arrives at a decision on the Palestine issue.Citing the British action in condemning three Jews to death in Palestine and ##e seizure of the refugee vessel Exodus and the deportation of its passengers as ##ecific instances of violation of the truce request, Dr. Silver pointed out that ##ming at this time when the U.N. Special Committee on Palestine is completing its ##rk in Palestine, the British have “created in Palestine an atmosphere of utmost ##tterness which cannot but be prejudicial to an early settlement.” He also re##hested that the Secretariat circulate the letter to members of the U.N. Palestine ##mittee and to member states.A U.N. spokesman told the J.T.A. that the letter would not be circulated since did not originate with a member state or a governmental body.
