World Jewish Congress Welcomes UNESCO Decision to Drop Calendar Reform

The decision of UNESCO to remove from its agenda the question of calendar reform was welcomed today by the World Jewish Congress, which has opposed any change in the present calendar on the grounds that it would interfore with traditional observance of the Sabbath. Objections had also been voiced by the Agedas Israel.
