Rumanian Zionist Leader Returns British Award Given Him for Aiding Troops

A.L. Zissu, Rumanian Zionist leader, said today that he has returned to the British Military Mission here a certificate signed by Field ##rshal Viscount Alexander thanking him for helping captured British soldiers and sailors escape from Rumania during the war.

Explaining that he had taken this step to protest Britain’s recent actions ? Palestine, Zissu, in an accompanying letter, declared: “In view of Britain’s cyni## violation of the Mandate in slaughtering heroic Jewish youths fighting for the liberation of Palestine, and the British Navy’s acts of piracy culminating in the attack on the Exodus, it would be dishonorable for me to retain a certificate of British Distinction.”
