Dr. Weizmann Expected to Arrive in New York Today; Visits U.S. to Aid U.J.A. Drive

Dr. Chaim Weizmann, veteran Zionist leader, is scheduled to arrive here tomorrow on the liner Queen Mary from England. He is visiting the United States at the invitation of the United Jewish Appeal in whose behalf he will tour various parts of the country.

The purpose of Dr. Weizmann’s visit is to help stimulate key communities which are now engaged in the fall and final phase of the drive to raise $170,000,000 this year for the relief, rehabilitation and resettlement programs of the agencies represented in the United Jewish Appeal. On October 11, Dr. Weizmann will address a mass rally of 20,000 persons in Boston to inaugurate that city’s $9,100,000 campaign. Early next mont, he is scheduled to visit Chicago, where the local drive is seeking to raise $12,000,000.
