The establishment of a Jewish state in Palestine will not obviate the necessity for the continued existence of a world-wide organization for the defense of the rights of Jews outside Palestine, Alex Easterman, political secretary of the World Jewish Congress, last night told a session of the current European parley of the WJC. He added that more attention will have to be paid to the relationship between the new state and the Congress which represents 60 national Jewish communities outside Palestine. Dr. Noah Barou, leader of the British section of the WJC, praised the American Jewish Congress for elevating its fight against anti-Semitism “to the level of a battle for the democratic rights of all minority groups.”
