Ashes from the notorious Oswiecim death camp were buried today in Beth Zion cemetery at a ceremony attended by some 50 persons, including Rabble J.0. Habersman and G. H. Kaprow.
The ashes were brought to this country by a Jewish refuges who fled Germany to Shanghai and returned to Europe after the war in search of his parents. He found that all traces led to the Oswiecim mass grave and, with permission of authorities, removed some of the ashes. A dozen pieces of scup made from the remains of Nazi Yictims and marked “PJS” (pure Jewish soap) were also interred.
