Monroe Goldwater was elected president of the United Jewish Appeal of Greater New York at a meeting of the Board of Directors today at the Hotel Biltmore, Mr. Goldwater succeeds Sylvan Gotshal, who was elected chairman of the board. Dr. Jonah B. Wise, former chairman of the board, was named honorary chairman, and Edwin Rosenberg, president of the United Service for New Americans, was elected chairman for the executive committee.
