Britain Will Not Permit Transfer of Funds to Palestine Except for Charitable Purposes

The British Government will permit the transfer of funds from Britain to Palestine if it is satisfied that the funds will be administered ##y charitable organizations for charitable purposes, Glenville Hall, financial secretary to the Treasury, declared today in Parliament. Replying to a question concerning money raised in Britain going to Palestine to arm the Jews there, he said that funds raised for the purpose of providing arms for Palestine did not fall into that category, and would therefore not be approved for transfer.
