The State Department today flatly denied reports that consideration was being given to withdrawal of the embargo on shipment of arms to Middle East countries. A report to this effect was broadcast last night by a Washington columnist who said that the State Department may lift the arms embargo this week.

The State Department also denied a report that the Arabian-American Oil Company had installed an air-conditioning unit at the company’s expense in the Washington apartment of Loy Henderson, chief of the Division of Near Eastern and African Affairs of the State Department.
